The Steps in Our Journey Together

Planning your wedding ceremony should be exciting, not overwhelming. My role is to guide you through every step of the process, making sure you know exactly what to expect from your first enquiry right through to the moment you're officially married.

Step 1: Send Through an Enquiry

The journey begins by completing the enquiry form on my website. Once I receive your details, I'll be in touch to answer any initial questions and arrange a time for us to meet.

Step 2: Let's Meet

This is one of my favourite parts of the process! We'll organise either a face-to-face meeting in Gympie or a video chat if you're further away. This is a relaxed, no-pressure conversation where we can get to know each other. I like to do this at a local coffee shop.

We'll chat about:

• Your love story and wedding plans.

• The vision you have for your ceremony.

• The ceremony packages available.

• Any questions you have about the legal process or planning your day.

Most importantly, this is your opportunity to decide whether I'm the right celebrant for you. Choosing your celebrant is about more than completing paperwork, it's about finding someone you feel comfortable with, who understands your personalities and can create a ceremony that truly reflects your relationship.

Step 3: Secure Your Wedding Date

Once you've decided that I'm the celebrant for you, it's time to make it official! To secure your wedding date, a 50% booking fee is required. At the same time, you'll receive my Service Agreement to review and sign electronically. Once both your booking fee and signed Service Agreement have been received, your wedding date is officially secured. The remaining balance is due no later than 7 days before your ceremony, ensuring everything is finalised well before your wedding day so you can simply relax and enjoy the excitement. You'll then receive a secure online form where you can provide all the information I need to prepare your file and begin the legal paperwork process.

Step 4: Let's Create Your Perfect Ceremony

Around three months before your wedding (depending on your time frame), the fun really begins!

You'll receive a ceremony questionnaire designed to help me get to know you both as a couple. The questionnaire will depend on the package you have chosen. It ranges from your love story and personalities to your ceremony style and special moments, your answers help me create a ceremony that's uniquely yours. I ask that you complete the questionnaire before our paperwork meeting. This allows us to discuss your ideas, answer any questions and make sure we're both on the same page before I begin writing your ceremony. You will also choose the two witnesses who will sign your official marriage documents during your ceremony. Your witnesses must be 18 years of age or older.

Step 5: Signing Your Legal Paperwork and Planning Meeting

One of the legal requirements of getting married in Australia is signing the Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM). This document must be signed at least one month before your wedding ceremony. I generally like to arrange our paperwork and planning meeting around 6–8 weeks before your wedding.

This gives us plenty of time to complete all the legal requirements without feeling rushed. If you're unable to meet in person, don't worry, all you have to do is print the documents on your end, sign and email back to me. This all gets completed via video chat.

During this meeting we'll:

• Complete and sign your Notice of Intended Marriage and any other required legal documents.

• Check your identification and supporting documents.

• Review your questionnaire together.

• Discuss your ceremony plans, including the order of events, personal vows, readings, and any special touches or special people you'd like to include.

• Answer any questions you have about your ceremony or the legal process.

By the end of our meeting, all the important legal requirements will be taken care of, and I'll have everything I need to create the perfect ceremony for your wedding day.

Step 6: Reviewing Your Ceremony

Now it's time to bring everything together. Depending on the package you've chosen, I'll either write a completely Tailor-Made ceremony or put together all your choices for your standard ceremony .

After our planning meeting, I'll prepare your ceremony draft and send it through for you to read over. Take your time reading through it, and if there's anything you'd like to change, we'll work together to make sure it's exactly as you imagined. About one week before your wedding, I'll also send you your official marriage paperwork for one final check. This gives you the opportunity to confirm that names, addresses, dates and occupations are all correct before the ceremony and make any changes if we need to.

Your final balance is also due at least 7 days before your ceremony, so everything is organised well in advance and you can simply look forward to your wedding day.

Step 7: Your Wedding Day

The day you've been waiting for has finally arrived! I'll arrive around an hour before your ceremony to set up my professional PA system, liaise with whoever is looking after your ceremony music, and make sure everything is ready before your guests arrive. If we haven't already had the opportunity to do so before your wedding day, I'll meet briefly with each of you individually before the ceremony. This is a legal requirement for all authorised marriage celebrants and ensures that both parties are entering into the marriage freely and willingly. Then it's time to take a deep breath, soak up every moment, and marry the love of your life. I'll take care of the rest.

After You Say "I Do"

Once the celebrations are over, my job isn't quite finished. I'll lodge all of your marriage paperwork with Births, Deaths and Marriages, so you don't have to worry about the legal side of things. Once your marriage has been registered, Births, Deaths and Marriages will send you an email with a link to purchase your Official Marriage Certificate, this will arrive to you by registered post.

As soon as I've lodged your paperwork, I'll also send you an email with everything you need to know about changing your surname (if you choose to). I recommend reviewing this information as soon as possible, so you're ready to begin the process once your Official Marriage Certificate arrives in the mail. All that's left for you to do is celebrate and enjoy married life!

You're Never Doing This Alone

Planning a wedding can feel overwhelming at times, but it doesn't have to. Whether you need advice, reassurance, help writing your vows, or simply someone to answer your questions, I'm here to guide you every step of the way. My goal is simple, to make your ceremony one of the easiest, most enjoyable and memorable parts of planning your wedding. From your first enquiry to the moment I lodge your marriage paperwork after your ceremony, I'll be with you every step of the journey.
